We are a growing, busy, friendly, inner city school. We are located in the historic district of Southampton surrounded by ancient city walls. Underneath the playground we have ancient vaults, and children can watch shipping passing by on Southampton Water. We offer excellent enrichment opportunities by making good use of the numerous resources nearby such as the Library, parks, Art Gallery, cinemas, theatres, the universities, local businesses and groups etc.
We are a multi-faith, multi-language school with a real community feel, where parents are highly valued as partners. Our Open Door policy supports staff and parents to work together for the benefit of the children.
We have created a challenging, well thought-out, stimulating curriculum and environment. Consequently children are happy at school and are able to benefit from the good teaching and guidance they receive from skilled staff.
We all aim to go 'Forward Together' and follow our Vision Statement which is available to view on the noticeboard at school and here on our website in Key Information.
We belong to the Southampton Cooperative Learning Trust. We are still a Local Authority school with our land and assetts held in trust. We work in partnership with Regents Park Community College, Foundry Lane Primary School, Banister Primary and Nursery School, St Mark's Primary School and Freemantle Academy. The Workers Educational Association is a partner in the Trust and we are developing ways we can work together to benefit our communities.
Our website aims to give you a taster of the school, as well as providing regular updated information for both parents and pupils. We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find any information you are looking for. If there is anything missing that you feel would be good to include, please let us know. If you require paper copies of any of the information on the website then please ask at the school office.
